But no one knew why he was cross.

Unlike his eagle parents
His spirit was always mean

Before birth the eagles knew his vices
And they promised the Sun they'd protect him
But despite all their offers of friendship
Eagle Boy would only reject them.

Now on the mountain's other side
The eagles long ago befriended
Their daughter Little Eagle Girl
And eagles she defended. . . .
