Please allow 2 weeks for delivery from time order is received. You can choose to sell all books at either $15 per book, earning $3 or $20 per book earning $6. You decide. Just let us know what price so we can send the flyers with the appropriate pricing. Books are $1 additional if you request them sent Express Mail. The teacher or school representative needs to mark this on the flyers and on the order form in the appropriate place. We recommend that if Monarch Majesty is ordered for fall monarch season, that you place your order by Express Mail during the first week of school and request Express Mail delivery. There is also the option of ordering them in spring for prompt fall delivery. Each purchase will not only give each child their own book to color in, but the Star Arts donation from book sales is for each school to enhance their curriculum in creative ways. Purchasing these activity books can make it possible for your school to do the following:
1) Hire creative writers, artists, or musicians to visit the classroom.
2) Initiate or enhance a monarch butterfly program in the classroom.
3) Have educational field
trips to a zoo or have zoo animals, or docents, visit the
4) Have educational field trips to a Bug Museum or Raptor Center at a local University.
5) Have a theater troupe visit the school for hands on experience.
6) Any other creative educational programs that interest your school.
Your school principal and the president of your school's PTA can work with Star Arts to decide who to would like to fund this initiative at your school, whether that be the parents of the students or local business owners. The PTA members and the principals of each school can collaborate in deciding how best to utilize the funds in ways that either enhance, or complement existing curriculum, or in ways that initiate new programs. Star Arts offers the above suggested uses to enhance creativity in the educational process. Teachers are encouraged to come up with other creative learning possibilities. The decisions as to how each school will use these funds needs to be based upon the individual needs of each school. After applying these funds to creative programs of your school's choice, Barbara would like the school representative to submit a form explaining how the school chose to use the funds, and how it enhanced the education of the children. She is open to receiving suggestions from each school. Perhaps these suggestions can be gathered and posted on her website to give other schools ideas.
Children love the detail in these books. They are recommended for ages 7 to adult. These coloring books have even been used in pre-school classes. Coloring in detail is an excellent way to develop fine motor skills and to strengthen visualization abilities. The children can use markers, gel pens, colored pencils and similar art materials that have a finer tip for coloring detail. * Note: Crayons will not work as well for much of the detail in these books.
The school representative
needs to meet with teachers and find out which book would be used for which
grade level. For instance, if you have a monarch program in your second grade
class, then Monarch Majesty would best
complement that grade level. If
your fourth grade class has a pet turtle or tortoise, then Turtle
Tidbits would best complement that grade level. Each book is to be used only
for one grade level and then to continue with the same grade levels for
following years. For instance, a school may choose Anthill
for their first graders, Monarch Majesty for their second graders, and Turtle
Tidbits for their third graders. However this is flexible. Another school
may choose Turtle Tidbits for fifth graders, Anthill for sixth
graders, and Monarch Majesty for seventh graders. Whatever you choose,
please keep it the same for the following years so the students are not coloring
in the same book 2 years in a row.
After the PTA decides which book will be for which grade level, then you
would decide if you will send flyers home with the children seeking the
participation of their parents or whether you will send out flyers to local
businesses, and contact them seeking their sponsorship. *Note: You may do a
combination of both if that works best for your school.
After this is decided, you may call Star Arts to request which
flyers you would like and how many of each one and the flyers will be sent to
the school representative (along with an order form for the parent’s orders).
The flyers for parents need to be filled out and returned with payment to
the child’s teacher. Then the
school representative needs to send payment with the order form to Star Arts. The business flyers need to be filled out and confirmed with
the school representative and mailed with payment to Barbara at:
